Feng Shui Expert Marites Allen Shares 2008 Readings at Shangri-la Mactan

For the Year of the Rat, Shangri-La’s Mactan Resort & Spa invites Marites C.B. Allen, a certified Feng Shui consultant, to give a talk on the art and science of Feng Shui, and what the 2008 Lunar Year has in store for love, career, money and health.

A graduate of the Lillian Too institute of Feng Shui, Ms. Allen has over a decade of Feng Shui experience, and has undergone certificate training with Master Reynaldo Lo of Hong Kong and Master Vincent Koh of Singapore.  Ms. Allen specializes in different schools of Feng Shui, including Eight Aspirations Theory, Eight Mansions, Flying Star and Four Pillars Feng Shui.

As President and CEO of two companies:  the World of Feng Shui Philippines Inc., the national franchisee of the globally-recognized World of Feng Shui group based in Malaysia and OrientExec, a highly specialized professional support services company which operates a Manila-based business center for international corporations, Ms. Allen provides internationally certified Feng Shui consultation services to business executives, CEOs and celebrities.  She is a close associate of world-renowned Feng Shui Master Ms. Lillian Too, has appeared in the Malaysian TV show “How To Get Richer Through Feng Shui” and has been featured extensively in major Philippine broadsheets and national television shows.

Ms. Allen elaborates that Feng Shui is an ancient Chinese Art of manipulating and arranging one’s surroundings to attract positive Chi energy, and to balance the harmony of yin and yang. Literally meaning “wind and water”, Feng Shui evolves from the theory that people are affected by the environment in which they lived in.

“Feng Shui is an art of living in harmony with environment,” Ms. Allen explains.  “This energy comes from the wind, the water and anything we bring.  When you go to a house, for example, sometimes if feels claustrophobic, and sometimes you get a nice feeling.  It’s the balanced energy that surrounds us.”

What Feng Shui is not, she emphasizes, is a religion.  “It is a living skill, a science that has lived for generations.  If there was no truth to it, it would have faded away.  (Studying) Feng Shui is like (getting a) master’s or Economics degree…”

Filipinos are very adept at Feng Shui, according to Ms. Allen.  “We have the inherent ability to survive economically.  We have that natural skill to mingle with the rest of the world.  We are…the best workers, we work hard.”  She likens Filipinos to her personal favorite emblem, te bamboo.  “In a storm, the bamboo swings back and forth (but never breaks).  The bamboo tree is a very auspicious symbol of good fortune.  Filipinos are like that.  No matter what happens, we always stand up.”
