Know your Astrological Allies

July 04, 2013

Feng shui expert Marites Allen explains the importance of knowing our “astrological friends.”

Naming the 12 animal signs in the Chinese zodiac may be easy for you. You may even know the story of how they were chosen as the symbols of the Chinese lunar calendar. But did you know that these 12 animals are further divided into four groups depending on their special affinity toward each other?

Depending on your animal sign, you have your own ‘affinity triangle’  consisting of yourself and two other animal signs who are your horoscope or astrological allies. You and your allies have similar  personalities and outlook in life and thus complement each other well. When you go through a challenging year, your allies can protect you and give you strength. Similarly, when the going gets tough for your horoscope allies, your strength and abilities can help tide them over.

The astrological allies are:

Rat, Monkey, and Dragon (The Competitors/ The Go-getters)

Sometimes when the Rat feels insecure, he may turn to the courageous Dragon who, in turn, benefits from the craftiness of the Monkey and the astuteness of the Rat. Monkeys can borrow some enthusiasm from Dragons and imagination from Rats.

Horse, Dog, and Tiger (The Independents/ The Free Spirits/ The Mavericks)

The Horse is the strategist in this group, but he lacks the daring nature of the Tiger and the determination of the Dog to start the ball rolling. The Dog restrains the ferocious Tiger and calms the restless Horse.

Snake, Rooster, and Ox (The Intellectuals/ The Brainiacs/The Thinkers)

The stable Ox needs the Snake’s charm and the Rooster’s flair. The crafty Snake will go places with the help of the Ox and the Rooster. The outspoken Rooster could learn from the Snake’s winning ways and then solid approach of the Ox.

Rabbit, Sheep, and Boar (The Diplomats/The Peace Lovers/The Masters of Tact)

The smart Rabbit protects the Sheep from being too generous. The Sheep, in turn, helps the Rabbit sort out his priorities. The strong Boar complements the Rabbit’s decisiveness and the Sheep’s gentle ways.

Your horoscope readings may not always be favorable. At times there could be indications of a tough year ahead. When that happens, don’t despair. Just take the necessary precautions and seek cosmic help from your astrological allies by displaying their figurines on your work desk or wearing their symbols as lucky charms.
