Year of the Snake: A Reset Button
By Marites Allen
The reign of the Water Snake—which starts on Feb. 10, 2013, and ends on Jan. 31, 2014—is an anticipated period in light of the challenges during the Year of the Water Dragon.
Compared with the Year of the Water Dragon, the imminent year of the Water Snake is looking to be a better year as shown by its chart. Water energy brings continued improvement, although it also indicates water-related disasters and fights energy. In 2013 the younger generation will play an important role in development.
There will be friendly alliances and new technology will bring people even closer. The Flying Star chart shows that the malevolent star number 5 has flown to the center sector, which brings inauspicious indications for Middle Eastern countries. Overall, 2013 is a good year for shifting careers or starting a business. Like a reset button, the Year of the Water Snake offers more auspicious beginnings.
Here is feng shui expert Marites Allen’s brief summary for what 2013 holds for each animal sign.
RAT (1924, 1936, 1948, 1960, 1972, 1984, 1996, 2008)
Things are looking up for you with the presence of auspicious stars in your chart. The Victory Star gives you the winning edge over competition. You can afford to take risks but be sure to counter health issues and learn to pace yourself to avoid serious setbacks.
OX (1925, 1937, 1949, 1961, 1973, 1985, 1997, 2009)
Outstanding possibilities await you in your personal and business life. Those in managerial or supervisory positions may be in for a promotion. The Big Auspicious Star shining from the direction of your secret friend, the Rat, indicates success and prosperity heading toward your direction and you can look forward to many happy experiences this year.
TIGER (1926, 1938, 1950, 1962, 1974, 1986, 1998, 2010)
Be thankful for your good wealth and success luck this year. The downside: low energy levels. While you strive to reach your goals, watch out that you don’t over-exert yourself. Beware, too, of the Robbery Star and similar afflictions.
RABBIT (1927, 1939, 1951, 1963, 1975, 1987, 1999, 2011)
Brace yourself for some rough sailing owing to the Quarrelsome Star in your chart. You may be short-tempered that could lead to disagreements and stressed relationships. When these happen, it would be good to spend some time alone in quiet reflection.
DRAGON (1928, 1940, 1952, 1964, 1976, 1988, 2000)
The combination of benevolent stars in your chart indicates a fabulous year ahead. You will benefit from auspicious connections, especially with a Snake-born person. Whatever afflictions there may be will be small compared to the positive luck headed your way.
SNAKE (1929, 1941, 1953, 1965, 1977, 1989, 2001)
A series of small victories may have more meaning than a big one. It may not be a remarkably great year, but it will be a good one nonetheless. Just take care that you don’t get sidetracked by romantic dalliances in a year when your life energies are down.
HORSE (1930, 1942, 1954, 1966, 1978, 1990, 2002)
Your good and bad fortune will be amplified. Be careful who you trust as you risk being robbed or cheated. Think long term and build the framework for future success. Ally yourself with people born under the Snake and Sheep signs who could share their auspicious luck with you this year.
SHEEP (1931, 1943, 1955, 1967, 1979, 1991, 2003)
This will be a better year for you. There will be slight inconvenience caused by the Illness Star but your inner chi remains strong so there’s no cause for worry. Mind your relationships. A Horse-born person close to you will be a source of good fortune. Be careful, however, when you deal with those born in the Monkey year.
MONKEY (1932, 1944, 1956, 1968, 1980, 1992, 2004)
Your prospects for this year may not be that great, but if you remain confident, things will work out well in the end. This is the year of the Snake who is your secret friend, so you won’t be without support. Be wary of Sheep-born people who could make things difficult for you.
ROOSTER (1933, 1945, 1957, 1969, 1981, 1993, 2005)
This will be a pleasant year filled with many happy events. Be warned, however, by the presence of the Robbery Star and Loss Star in your chart. Be careful who you trust because you run the risk of being betrayed. Your affinity with Monkey- and Dog-born people will bring good fortune.
DOG (1934, 1946, 1958, 1970, 1982, 1994, 2006)
You will make good use of the many good opportunities this year. You have the necessary energy and enthusiasm to make things happen. You can go after your dreams without difficulties, so set your targets high.
BOAR (1935, 1947, 1959, 1971, 1983, 1995, 2007)
There are many good prospects ahead so don’t get sidetracked by the small obstacles. Focus on the bigger picture and this could prove to be an exciting year for you.
