Ringing in the New Year with Feng Shui

March 05, 2009

Well-known business, media, and entertainment personalities, and hundreds of feng shui enthusiasts gathered on January 17 at the Grand Ballroom of the Renaissance Hotel, in perhaps the country’s biggest and best Feng Shui Updates of the year. The event is a clear indication that feng shui practice is enjoying a huge following in the Philippines, and also reflects the credibility and charisma of the woman behind the annual event, WOFS Philippines President and CEO, Marites Allen.  Marites is playing a commanding role in raising public awareness on feng shui throughout the country. As in previous years, this year’s event was graced by friends, loyal supporters, and people who need no further convincing that fengshui works. Some were even gracious enough to render testimonials and share their personal experiences on how feng shui has helped them during life-turning moments. The presence of co-host Boy Abunda and the brief appearances of media darlings Tessa Prieto-Valdez and Tim Yap added glitter to the event.

All these, plus the dazzling performance of Club Mwah, made the 2009 Feng Shui Updates a tough act to follow. But clearly, the audience came for the much-awaited feng shui updates for 2009. Given the uncertain prospects of a global melt-down, everybody seems eager to know what lies ahead and accordingly, prepare themselves for what is bound to come. Without wasting any time, Marites Allen unveiled her general forecast, citing feng shui prospects for industries, house facing directions, general Paht Chee and Flying Star chart for the year.

 HIGHLIGHTS
-The Four Pillars chart for the year show the presence of all five elements. This indicates a promising and crucial year of recovery.

-The Chinese lunar year has a double Lap Chun or beginning of spring, which falls on February 4, 2009 and on February 4, 2010 – another excellent sign.

-The presence of three Yang elements (Fire and Water, Metal and Earth, Fire and Wood) and one Yin pairing (Double Earth) in the Four Pillars indicates strong yang energy, which is favorable.

-The year of the Earth Ox is a good year for getting married and renewing vows.

-In the Flying Star chart for the year, the Prosperity Star in the center holds promise of future prosperity, which can be activated by placing enhancers like glitter lamps in the center of the home.

-The secret friend combination of the Rat and the Ox means a good beginning and end for the year.

-On the not-so-positive side, the dominance of the Earth element indicates that some natural calamities may occur.

-People need to be health-conscious as there are indications of epidemics.

-The clashing Water and Fire elements in the Four Pillars chart indicate conflict, especially among younger generations.

-Earth element businesses including real estate, construction, and hotels will do well in the year.

-There will be tough competition in the agriculture, publishing, and other wood element businesses.

-Banking, shipping, and other water element businesses will face a difficult year and unless proper strategies are set in place, some weak companies will collapse.

-Those in the fire element industries, such as entertainment, restaurants, and stock market, must think big and need to watch timing to make big gains.

Ringing in the New Year with Feng Shui

As the year of the Earth Ox indicates a year of recovery, Marites encouraged audiences to “Dare to Dream” throughout her various SM Mall tours.
Also forecasting the good luck stars for the year, Marites indicated that 2009 will serve as a renewal process for all  “to consolidate and get back on track” in pursuing dreams and aspirations. Allen further advised that Feng Shui has lived for generations and if there was no truth to it, it would have just faded away.  You have nothing to lose, you have everything to gain!

With luck on their side, several hundreds to thousands of feng shui enthusiasts and followers herded to SM Megamall, SM Fairview,  The Podium,
SM Sta. Mesa, SM North Edsa and a massive crowd in SM Mall of Asia - proving the partnership to be of great success.
